Local history experts will share stories & photos as we walk the 1883 railroad grade. Short stops at 10 Interpretive Sites, including the #4 Air-shaft, Ford Slope, Hoist Blocks, and Swanson Property overlook. These are the 'touch-points' that connect us to 100 years of hidden history. Over 1,000 people lived and worked here in the 1920's!

Trailhead: Cinder Mine Trailhead on Newcastle Golf Course Rd. (Lakemont Blvd. is closed for bridge construction at Coal Creek; approach from SW via Coal Creek Pkwy.)

Additional equipment: Dress for the weather. Hiking poles are helpful for steep sections.
