Ribbons marking location of potential new trail

Join us on an exploratory hike and look at potential new trail connections and learn what still needs to be done to protect some forested land on NE Cougar Mtn. from development.

A lot of good things have happened on the NE side of Cougar Mtn. in recent years. Both the City of Issaquah and King County have saved land from development and are now managing it for better water quality and quantity, fish and wildlife habitat, human health, recreation opportunities, and carbon sequestration. However, there are still privately-own parcels that could be developed right in the middle of these newly preserved lands. On this hike, IATC's David Kappler will lead us to some of the newly saved lands and privately own parcels and explore possible new trail connections and discuss what still needs to be done to preserve some beautiful forest land from development.
