Pastoral and Historic

Once gone, never to return!

The open pasture, horse barn, and former home of Milt Swanson, our last local coal miner, are threatened by development of 35 private homes. Across from the Cougar Mt. Regional Park’s Red Town trailhead and surrounded by the Coal Creek Natural Area Park, preservation, not development, is needed to protect wildlife habitat and the salmon-bearing stream, and provide safer crossing of Lakemont Blvd. for both wildlife and people. Petitions will be available for signing, along with directions for self-guided hikes along history loops in both parks.
