Forest Health Watch Hike & Soils Sampling

  • Squak Mtn. State Park Trailhead 21500 Southeast May Valley Road Issaquah, WA, 98027 United States (map)

We are honored to have Joey Hulbert, PhD back to join us on a brisk morning hike followed by soils sample gathering. For the first half we will hike up Squak Mountain and have the opportunity to learn about Joey’s research and how to identify the health of trees and what different signs mean. This is an excellent opportunity to ask a scientist with deep knowledge of the forest your questions. For the second half Joey will teach us how to collect soil samples! We will collect samples under the trees near the parking area and Pretzel Tree Loop Trail area. Joey will bring all of the tools we need and once collected he will bring them back to his lab for testing.

Registration required.
