Working Forest Weyerhaeuser Hike: West Tiger

Ara Erickson, VP of Corporate Sustainability at Weyerhaeuser, will share her experience and perspective on the role of working forests — what a working forest provides, what it does, and how it’s managed. She will talk about the gradient of lands — urban to suburban to rural to wild — and how forests fit into our world, or rather how we fit into theirs. Ara will discuss the varying objectives of working forests, from public and private to small and large, and she’ll talk through how Weyerhaeuser works to protect habitat, wildlife, water and the countless other benefits that forests provide. Q & A will be welcome throughout the hike.
